BG Remover — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about formats, quality, privacy and how BG Remover works.
General
What does BG Remover do?
It detects the main subject in an image, removes the surrounding background, and exports a transparent PNG.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the tool, choose your image, and download the result without signing up.
Can I create a white product background?
Yes. Use the White Background Maker to produce a high-quality JPG on solid white.
What should I check before publishing?
Zoom in around hair, fur, fingers, glass, shadows, and low-contrast edges. A clear original gives the detector more detail to work with.
Are my images permanent?
No. Uploaded and generated files are automatically removed after the temporary retention window shown on the download page.
Background Remover
Is bgremover.app free?
Yes. You can remove backgrounds without an account, and downloaded results do not carry a watermark.
Which image formats can I upload?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images are supported. Transparent results download as PNG.
Can I process more than one photo?
Yes. Select multiple images in one upload; completed files are packaged together for download.
Does it work with hair and fur?
It can, especially with a sharp, well-lit source and good contrast. Always inspect fine edges before using the result.
How long are uploads kept?
Uploads and completed files are temporary and are automatically deleted after the retention period shown on the download page.
White Background Maker
What file do I get?
A high-quality JPG with a solid white background.
Is white the same as transparent?
No. White is a solid color. For a reusable cutout, use the Background Remover and keep the transparent PNG.
JPG to Transparent PNG
Why does the download change to PNG?
PNG supports an alpha channel for transparency; JPG does not.
Will converting improve image quality?
No. The output preserves the useful detail in the source, but it cannot restore detail already lost to JPG compression.
Transparent PNG Resizer
Will transparency be preserved?
Yes. The result remains a PNG with its transparent areas intact.
Will the image be stretched?
No. Its original aspect ratio is preserved.
